Jefferson

Mr. Danny McClanahan, 74, of Jefferson, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Frederick Health Hospital.

Born on March 9, 1952, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, he was the son of the late George McClanahan and Betty Russell.

Danny dedicated more than 50 years of his life to working as a mechanic. He took great pride in his work, and his skill, knowledge, and willingness to lend a helping hand earned the respect of those who knew him. Outside of work, he had a passion for building street rods and enjoyed bringing classic cars to life through his craftsmanship and creativity. He also had a lifelong love of country music and spent several years traveling and performing throughout the local area with a close friend's country band, enjoying the music and the friendships he made along the way.

Above all, Danny treasured his family and friends. Nothing brought him greater joy than a house filled with people he loved.

Danny is survived by his only child, his daughter, Veronica Rivadeneyra and her husband, Gregory; his grandchildren, Elisha, Aurora, Victoria, and Serena; his sister, Connie Grubaugh; and his aunts, Shirley Berardi and Phyllis Miller, who became a constant source of love and guidance after he lost his mother at 21 and remained like second mothers to him throughout his life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy McClanahan, and his aunt, Barbara Campbell.

Family and friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2026, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. A Celebration of Life will begin at 3:00 p.m. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Ohio.

Danny's legacy of hard work, craftsmanship, music, and love for his family and friends will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
