David Lee Filipiak

David Lee Filipiak, 68, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on July 21, 2026.

Born on May 24, 1958, in Front Royal, Virginia, Dave was the son of the late Phillip Robert Filipiak and Doloris Lorain Bowen, and grandson to the late Emma Staton Campbell. Dave graduated from Warren County High School in 1977 and went on to study at the Art Institute of Los Angeles preceding his career in construction management.

A dedicated and hardworking professional, Dave built a remarkable 35-year career at Bozzuto Construction, where he most recently served as a Senior Superintendent. The lengthiness of his time at Bozzuto was a testament to his steadfast reliability, work ethic, and the deep respect he earned among his colleagues in the industry. As one of the longest tenured employees at Bozzuto, Dave was loved by many, and considered his team his second family.

In 2003, Dave married his late wife Patricia Feiler St. Jean, and they shared 22 years together until her passing in November 2025. Their marriage was filled with traveling, spending time with their grandchildren, and a shared love for life’s simple pleasures. They ultimately settled in Frederick, Maryland where they built their home together.

Dave was predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia; his parents, Phillip and Doloris; his grandmother, Emma; and his uncles, Randolph Bowen and Aubrey (Chuck) Bowen, Jr. He is survived by his stepson, Shawn St. Jean, and daughter-in-law, Jennifer; his two cherished granddaughters, Abby and Emma; his sister-in-law, Susan Nyden, and her husband, Marc; his nieces, Rachel and Michelle; his Uncle Robert (Bob) Bowen; his aunt Sherrie Campbell; as well as countless cousins.

Family and friends can gather at Keeney and Basford Funeral Homes, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701, on Monday August 17, 2026 from 3:30pm until the start of the memorial service at 4pm.
