On April 27, 2025, David Lee Tracey, age 63, passed at Frederick Hospital, surrounded by his family and friends. David was born in Frederick, MD on December 1, 1961 and is the son of the late Franklin Harrison Tracey and the late Doris Jean Hummel - Miller.
David is a graduate of Frederick High School, class of 1979. He had fell in love with music at an early age and continued to pursue his love for music as he was a drummer, guitarist and singer. He played with the band Close Call at Rabbits Foot and various other artist collaborations over the years. He would attend karaoke with his friends on a regular basis and would still sing his heart out up until he got sick. Although his passion was music, he became a locksmith after trade schooling. He perfected his knack over the years working for two other locksmith companies before deciding to branch out on his own, creating Dave's Lock and Key. He serviced various counties in Maryland and the NOVA region providing the best customer service experience for those in their time of need while also giving back to the community. He had a generous huge heart and made monetary donations as much as he could whenever he could. The veterans and St Jude's hospital were near and dear to him.
David is survived by his daughters Jessica Weiss of Pennsylvania and Brittany Tracey of Taneytown, MD grandchildren Alexis and Nathaniel Weiss and Quinn Tracey, sisters Judy (Kenny) Kingsmore of Havre de Grace, MD and Karen Amoss (Buster) of Frederick, MD and his Chorkies; Marley, Bailey and Harley and his Teacup Chihuahua; Peanut. He is pre-deceased by his Chorkie; Kaylee.
Viewing will be held at Keeney and Basford Funeral Homes, P.A., 106 E. Church Street on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 16, 2025 beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
