Donna Lee Crouse

Mrs. Donna L. Crouse, 67, of Middletown, MD, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at home with family and friends by her side. She was the loving wife of Curtis Ruppert for 38 years.

Donna was born June 2, 1958, along with her twin sister Diane, in Hagerstown, MD. She was the daughter of Alice "Joan" Crouse and the late Dr. J. Richard Crouse. She grew up in Middletown and Frederick, attending local schools Visitation Academy, St. Johns, and graduating from Governor Thomas Johnson High School. She attended Frostburg University before transferring to the University of Maryland to complete her bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture and Design. Upon graduating, she began her career in interior design and space planning. She was married to Curtis in 1987, and they established a home in Garrett Park, MD where they began raising their two daughters Kathleen and Madeline. The family relocated to Middletown in 1999.

Donna forged loyal friendships, staying in touch with those from all stages of her life. She was an avid gardener, and an active member of the Tasker’s Chance Garden Club, having served as president and treasurer. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at Deep Creek Lake, where she had a vacation home.

In addition to her husband and mother, Donna is survived by her daughters Kathleen Ruppert (Andrew Harnish) and Madeline Ruppert; grandchildren Ruth Harnish and Nolan Harnish; siblings Diane Wilkinson (Steve), Kristi Boehmcke (Chris), J. Richard "Rick" Crouse, and Karen Crouse (Ron Linton); and numerous nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 1:00 PM- 4:00 PM at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E Church St, Frederick, MD. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July, 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Community, 7321 Burkittsville Rd, Middletown, MD. Inurnment will be private.
