Earl Richard Clevenger

Mr. Earl Richard "Boo" Clevenger, 75, of Middletown, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.

Born January 16, 1951 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Richard Clevenger and Myrtle Dixon Bagent.

Earl graduated from Frederick High School in 1969 and began working for the Montgomery County Government, where he retired after over 30 years of service. While working for Montgomery County, he also worked for Eddie Mercer on evenings and weekends. After retiring, he worked as a driver for Southern States. He spent spare time volunteering at the 4H Camp Center, Carroll Manor and New Market Fire Departments. Earl was a farmer at heart and would spend every Sunday at his Uncle Dixon's farm in Monrovia before that property was sold off. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his produce with family and friends. He loved all animals but especially his Jack Russell Terriers. He played softball for Carroll Manor Fire Department for many years and was a current member of the Frederick Moose Lodge #371. Most of all things in life, Earl loved his daughter and grandchildren.

Earl is survived by his daughter Stephanie and husband Austin, grandchildren Madelyn, Jasen, and Brennan; cousin Janice and husband Johnny and family; and half brother Robert "Bobby" and family. He will be remembered by his girlfriend Pat, close friends Deb and John, and numerous cousins and friends.

Earl was preceded in death by his cousins Linda and Bernard, half brother Thomas and nephew Richard "Little Richie".

The family will receive friends from 1pm to 4pm, on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. The funeral service will be held 11am, on Monday, June 8, 2026 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be shared to the Frederick County 4H Camp Center, 3702 Basford Road, Frederick, MD 21703.
