Edith Ann Loveland

Edith Ann Loveland, 83, of New Market passed away at home on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. Born December 11, 1942, in Orrville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Creed Odward Parsons and Mabel Miller Parsons. She was a member of the Doylestown High School Class of 1960.

After graduation, Edith was employed by the Rubbermaid Corporation in Wooster, Ohio. Edith married Larry James Loveland in 1963 and relocated to Maryland. She worked at the Naval Surface Weapons Center as a keypunch operator until 1966. She was a member of the New Market United Methodist Church and served as secretary for the New Market and Mt. Carmel United Methodist Charge for five years.

She was a loving childcare provider for many years, including to her own grandchildren. Many of those adult children still visited their “Nana”. She was a bird watcher, wonderful cook, gardener, and created beautiful crocheted afghans and other crafts. She was well known for making delicious iced Christmas cookies, a family tradition that continues.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband Larry. She is survived by her loving daughters, Peggy and her husband Paul Bradley Goebel of Frederick, MD, Lorri Jane Loveland and her husband Richard Duncan of Hagerstown, MD and her treasured grandchildren, Bradley James Loveland Goebel and Kai Riley Goebel of Frederick, MD.

Edith disliked being the center of attention and requested her services be private.
