E. Virginia McClain

Mrs. E. Virginia "Tottles" Stup McClain, 96, went to join her beloved husband Bernard McClain (2016) and daughter Sally Ruth McClain (2014) on Sunday evening June 1st.

She was born on March 30, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Archie F. Stup and Ruth Ellen Clay Stup. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Vernon, Millie Harris, Blanche "Peg" Hargett, Grace Garver and Robert.

She and Bernard were married in 1948 and had 3 children: Nancy Thompson Imirie and husband Allan, Ronnie McClain and the late Sally Ruth McClain. She loved her grandsons: Russell Thompson and Travis Thompson and wife Melissa and great-grandchildren: Tristan and Hailey.

She and Bernard were farmers in the Monrovia/New Market area all their life. She knew hard work and was a great country cook. After retirement from farming she was a cafeteria lady in the New Market schools. She was a member of the Bush Creek Church of the Brethren (where she met Bernard in the Youth Group in the 1940's).

A Graveside service will be held at 1:00PM, on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 515 S. Market Street, Frederick. Those wishing to attend will a gather in front of the FSK Chapel at the front gate. Pastor Dawn Weller will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bush Creek Church Church of the Brethren, 4821 Green Valley Road, Monrovia, MD 21770.
