Edward L. Heckert, Jr.

Mr. Edward L. Heckert, Jr., of Frederick, died Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Frederick Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born December 22, 1951 in Alexandria, VA, he was the son of the late Edward Sr. and Mary (Eicholtz) Heckert.

Edward loved to travel and be on the road.  He had a great appreciation of films and art music. He enjoyed libraries, where he could spend time reading and learning about all sorts of topics. He was a former employee of Mercer, later Clouse Trucking.

Edward is survived by his sisters; Leslie Atanasoff and husband Roland and Elena Spitzer and husband Clark, brother; Greg Heckert, nephews; William Crooks and Aaron Spitzer and niece; Jessica Heckert.

In addition to his parents; Edward was preceded in death by his sister; Sharon Skates.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00Am, on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at St. John's Catholic Church, 118 E. 2nd Street, Frederick, MD 21701.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Frederick Rescue Mission, 419 W. South Street, Frederick, MD 21701.
