Eleanor Rita Appleby

On Sunday, January 11, 2026, Eleanor Rita Berberich Appleby, passed away at the age of 96 years. She is survived by her son Timothy Patrick Appleby (Beth Reitz Appleby) and grandchildren Lauren (Alexis Young), Matt (Johnnie Dewlin), Anna Casey ( Noah Austin), Patrick (Julie Appleby), Alison and great grandchildren Lilli Dewlin, Avery Dewlin, Kennady Austin, and Colt Austin; sons-in-law Cmdr. George Calvin Lassetter, III (Ret.) and Robert Dewlin.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Hardin (Fred), and daughters Kathleen Patricia Lassetter and Susan Lynn Dewlin.

Throughout her life, Eleanor embraced various careers, from accounting to jewelry sales, but her true passion lay in nurturing her family.

Eleanor was the heart of her family, always available to support her children and grandchildren. She made it her mission to ensure that everyone around her had the resources and encouragement they needed to thrive. Her unwavering presence at family events and her commitment to staying connected were testaments to her deep love for her family.

Known for her warmth and wisdom, Eleanor often reached out with personal calls, offering advice and comfort to her grandchildren. Her words of encouragement and heartfelt counsel will be sorely missed, as she had a unique ability to make each person feel special and valued.

Eleanor's life was characterized by her dedication to family. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire her loved ones for generations to come. In her memory, let us celebrate the love she shared and the countless lives she touched.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 2407 Laurel Brook Road, Fallston, Maryland 21047. Interment immediately following at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, 200 E. Padonia Road, Timonium, Maryland 21093.
