Esther Eubinag passed peacefully at Citizens Nursing Home in Frederick, Maryland, on March 26, 2026. She was 91 and a devout Catholic, attending St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church. Heaven gained a beautiful soul with a great sense of humor, loving kindness, and endless hospitality. While being fiercely independent, she imbued the Filipino concept of “kapwa” or shared community with everyone she met.
Esther was born in the Philippines on July 4, 1934 to loving parents Ruben and Porfiria Vidola. She graduated from the Philippine Dental College of Manila in 1957. She married Isabelo Eubinag (her loving husband of 51 years) in July 1960. In 1968, they left a prosperous life in the Philippines to immigrate to the United States with their three young boys Michael, London and Glenn. Their family was complete when their fourth son Jeffrey was born in New Jersey. Soon after, they settled down in Frederick, Maryland.
Esther was fond of sports cars, especially the Ford Mustangs she drove fast taking her children to school and then to her work as a dental assistant without managing to get any speeding tickets. She later worked at State Farm in Frederick before retiring and seeing the world traveling with Isabelo and their friends.
Esther was an avid tennis player along with the rest of the family, with fond memories of frequently playing in Baker Park. She combined her love of fashion on the courts with her tennis outfits. A funny family memory was when a ball hit her eye, with London noting “at least you kept your eye on the ball”, which inspired a lot of Esther’s contagious laughing.
Esther was predeceased by husband Isabelo Eubinag, and her siblings Milagros Ocampo, Nelson and Weldon Vidola. She is survived by her sons Michael (and his wife Sheila), London, Glenn (and his wife Susan) and Jeffrey (and his wife Misty), her grandchildren Rianna Martin (and her husband Anthony), Connor, Max and Hampton Eubinag, and great-grandson Corbin Martin. Esther is also survived by her brothers Jose and Romeo Vidola and dear friends Fe Azcarate and Pauline Manalo.
A private ceremony will be held in Esther’s honor for family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) in her honor, or perform an act of kindness, as she did for many people.
