Eurath Ann Selckmann died suddenly on August 17, 2023 in Frederick, Maryland. She was the loving wife of the late August Selckmann, Sr. and devoted mother of Augie Selckmann, Jr. and family Jan, Tara, Owen, Ben and Erin; devoted mother of Beth Sulcer and her husband Buck, and children, Matthew, Nicholas and Buckie; devoted mother of Cathy Polino and husband John and children, Joe and Jimmy; and devoted mother of Steven Selckmann and his wife Donna and family, Mike, Elise and Luna. Eurath was born on March 31, 1927 in High Point, North Carolina to the late Eurath Rebecca Zentz Hardy and the late Jerry David Hardy, Sr. She was raised in Catonsville, MD. Later attending Elon College and the world famous Peabody Conservatory studying voice. She relocated to Frederick in 1948 to raise her family, being very active in the Urbana community, the Homemakers Club, the St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church Sodality and was a published historian of Urbana. She was a choir soloist and cantor for both St. Ignatius of Loyola and St. Joseph-on-Carrollton Manor churches. Friends may call on Monday, August 21, 2023 at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 4103 Prices Distillery Rd., Ijamsville, MD 21754 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. when a funeral mass will be offered. Interment will follow at St. Joseph-on-Carrollton Manor Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the charity of your choice or simply sing a song to someone dear to you.
