Janet Jane (Fogle) Stockman, beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home on October 3, 2025, at the age of 90. She was born on April 12, 1935, in LeGore, Maryland, to the late Martin Luther and Ana Fogle. Janet was preceded in death by her devoted husband, James W. Stockman, and by her 13 siblings, with whom she shared cherished family bonds.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family. Janet is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Simons of Frederick, MD; three grandchildren, Angie Fee and husband Billy of Frederick, MD, Amanda Bradley and husband Neil of Charles Town, WV, and John Simons Jr. and fiancée Amber Williams of Bunker Hill, WV; and five great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life — Madison Fee, Hannah Williams, Brooke Simons, Cannon Bradley, and Charleigh Simons. She is also remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends whose lives she touched with her warm and caring personality.
She will be remembered not only for her role as the heart of her family but also for the kindness and warmth she shared with all who had the blessing of knowing her.
Her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband and siblings, and that her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
The family will receive friends at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. The funeral service will commence at 11:00 A.M. with interment immediately following at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
