John Dehaven Johnson, Sr.

John Dehaven Johnson Sr., 64, of Frederick passed at his home on Sunday July 5, 2026.

He is preceded in death by his Mother Carol A. Divel, Father Irvin P. Johnson, Sister Laurie A. Johnson and Son Aaron L. Johnson.

He is survived by his sons; John Johnson Jr. and Robert Johnson. Granddaughter; Ariyah Johnson. Sister; Dawn Carns (husband Chuck) Nieces; Sarah Morris (husband Joseph) Kasey Carns (fiancé Calvin) and Hannah Carns. Nephew; Jason Manning. As well as great nieces; Skylar Morris and Magnolia Mae Ledford.

John was a country boy who was a self professed "red-neck mechanic". He grew up in Unionville and was always a hard worker who enjoyed building and racing cars when he was younger. He would later attend and graduate from Linganore High School.

He was a proud member of the Frederick Moose Lodge where his jokes and sense of humor will be greatly missed. John was also a pretty good pool player, as he was the captain and member of several APA teams, even earning himself a couple of decorated trips to Las Vegas. On Sundays, John rooted for the Ravens and even into his later years was an avid video gamer. In spite of John's physical limitations, he never let obstacles stand in his way and will be remembered for his "can do" attitude.

The family will hold a celebration of life at The Frederick Moose Lodge on July 25, 2026 from 1-5pm.
