Joseph Albert Beachley Sr.

Joseph Albert Beachley, Sr., Joey to his friends, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Frederick Health Hospital (FMH) where he was born on July 30, 1967 to Florence E. Beachley (nee Smith) and Ellsworth “Gene” Beachley of Brunswick, MD.
Joey was a residential construction carpenter for many of his working years as well as the family mechanic keeping everyone’s vehicle on the road, until his health limited his physical abilities.
Joey enjoyed and loved his family deeply. He was passionate about fishing the Potomac River, riding his scooter about his hometown of Brunswick, following the Dallas Cowboys and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Busch beer and Fireball whiskey kept his struggles bearable.
In addition to his parents, Joey is survived by his sons, Joseph A. Beachley, Jr. (Caitlin) and Anthony Beachley both of West Virginia as well as siblings; Richard, Frank (Christel), and Jeff Beachley, Nancy Darr “Mooch”, and Jennifer Travis (Bunky). Joey is the grandfather of Natheneal Nicholson, Bentley Beachley, Addison Beachley, Joseph A. Beachley, III, and Ayden Beachley.
He is preceded in death by his son the late Derrick Beachley, grandson Silas Beachley, former mother-in-law Jo Mentzer, sister Jeannie Beachley, nephew Sammy Divel, many cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and his beloved dog Bud.
The family would like to acknowledge Serena, Charlotte, Brooke and everyone at the Brunswick American Legion.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit on Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Homes, P.A. 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, Maryland 21701 where a funeral service will be held at 12: p.m. Interment immediately following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in the Beachley family plot.
