June Evelyn Werner

June Evelyn Werner, 96 of Frederick, Maryland went to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 28, 2025.
June was born June 7, 1929 in Leeds, Wisconsin to the late Agnes and Marshall Hazard. She graduated from Poynette High School in 1947. Following high school, she attended business college in Milwaukee, WI. and was employed as a secretary for a construction company.
In 1950, June married John G. Werner. They had three daughters. June tended her daughters and home until her children were raised, later returning to work performing data entry for the Woodward & Lothrop Co. until her retirement.
June loved gardening, activities of all kinds and visiting with family and friends. She was active in church and sang in the choir. She lived her retirement in an over fifty-five Frederick community, where she made many good friends, participated in various activities, volunteered in the clubhouse and served as a member of the Activities and Hospitality Committees.
June is survived by her daughters; Lynn (Mark) Freemantle, Tina (Tom) Weidner, Jill (Jim) Elwinger as well as three grandchildren; Benjamin (Jeanette) Weidner, Samantha (Brandon) Warren and Evan (Stephanie) Weidner; two great grandchildren, Avery and Brooke Warren. She is further survived by seven nephews and seven nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Jean Bauer and brother Stanley Hazard.
Family and friends are invited to visit the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701 on Monday November 3, 2025 from 2pm to 4pm. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
