Marvin Edward Kennedy, Jr.

October 17, 1958 — October 23, 2021

Marvin Edward Kennedy, Jr., 63, of Keyser, West Virginia, and formerly of Frederick, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the Potomac Valley Hospital, in Keyser. Born in Frederick on October 17, 1958, he was a son of the late Marvin E., Sr., and Bertha Crum Kennedy
Surviving is his sister, Joan Thomas, of Williamsport, MD, nephews, Pitkin Thomas and wife Betsy, Clinton Thomas, great nephews, Cameron, Calvin and Cooper. Marvin Kennedy’s creative influences on the Maryland music and independent film scene were indeed influential.
He acted in, filmed or produced no fewer then a hundred projects in the Sci-fi/Horror genre, most recently “Bigfoot”. Every film Marvin touched was made better by this hard working, gentle genius.
He was also instrumental in founding several of Frederick’s most unique experimental rock bands.
First “Dominant Life Form” in which he wrote all the lyrics and music and then “The Hellgrammites”, who are rocking to this day.
Everyone that ever talked with Marvin, knew his quick sense of humor, always shined and he was ahead of his time.
Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are with Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, Frederick.
