Mrs. Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Morgan Gartrell of Frederick, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, June 21, 2025. She was the wife of the late Howard G. "Bud" Gartrell, who preceded her in death on November 19, 2005.
Born April 30, 1935 in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late George E. Morgan and Margaret Morgan Brown and step daughter of the late Clyde W. Brown.
In her early years, she worked at the Hallmark Card Shop in downtown Frederick. Libby retired from the Frederick County Board of Education Transportation Dept., serving as a school bus aide for Rock Creek School. Most of all, she enjoyed her family. There is nothing she would not do for them. One of her favorite past times was visiting with them and attending their many sports and school activities.
Surviving are her four children, Sandra Vorlaufer (Robert) of Thurmont, Dawn McLeod of Frederick, Ronald Gartrell (Sharen) of Frederick and Dana White (Brian) of Woodsboro, grandchildren, Kristen Brightful (Jamarr), Justin McLeod, Sara Little (Zack), Dalton White, Matthew Gartrell (Morgan) and Mackenzie White, great-grandchildren, Colton Brightful and Kennedy Brightful, special friend, Barbara Kaetzel, numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Libby was preceded in death by brothers, James Morgan and Robert "Link" Morgan, sister, Betty DeGrange and son-in-law, Michael McLeod.
At the request of Libby a private service will be held at a later day.
