Mary Beth Harbin Gilley, 66 of Frederick, MD. Left this world on Sunday, August 16, 2026 after a brief illness and stay in hospice.
Born in Baltimore, MD. On October 5, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Clara M. and Francis L. Harbin, both long-term residents of Hampstead, MD. Mary Beth attended the former North Carroll High School, class of 1979. In her youth, she enjoyed and was proud of her participation in Girl Scouts.
She moved to Frederick in the mid-1980’s and for nearly 40 years was a supporter of Way Station, a community support program for mental health. There she met the man of her life, Marvin Gilley, whom she married on August 6, 2014. Together, they enjoyed day trips, dining at local restaurants and watching movies at home, especially horror movies.
Surviving Mary Beth, in addition to her husband, are four brothers and three sisters-in-law: Paul F. Harbin of Albuquerque, NM. Steven L. and Susan M. Harbin of Hampstead, MD., Michael C. Harbin and Mary Dee Heilman of Zion Crossroads, VA. And Edwin L. and Susan C. Harbin of Charlottesville, VA. as well as five nephews and three nieces.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 24, 2026 at Keeney & Basford Funeral Homes, P.A., 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD. 21701 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 118 E. 2nd Street, Frederick, MD. 21701 at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 24. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mtn. Hwy. US. Rte. 15 north, Frederick, MD. 21701.
