Mary Ferruzza Speiden

Mary Ferruzza Speiden, age 73, passed away in Frederick, Maryland on September 4, 2026.

Born January 4, 1953 in Washington, D.C., daughter of James Ferruzza and Annie Rusk Ferruzza. She grew up in New Carrollton and later moved to Anne Arundel County before settling in Frederick. Mary worked in Human Resources for the US Department of Agriculture, APHIS before retiring in 2018. There was nothing Mary loved more than her family. She preferred to spend her time with her three children, seven grandchildren, and great granddaughter. Mary was also an avid animal lover and you could always find a dog, or two, by her side. She loved to watch football on Sunday and would always cheer for her Redskins, even if they weren't doing well. She absolutely loved Elvis Presley and if there was music playing, you could usually find her dancing.

Mary Ferruzza Speiden is survived by her three children, Sean Roberts, Kristi Speiden, Jenni Jones, her son in law, John Paul Jones, her seven grandchildren, Cheyanne Jones, JP Jones, Amber Jones, Sean Roberts Jr., Lance Jones, Paisley Jones, and Lucas Jones, and her great granddaughter, Alana Jones. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, James Ferruzza and Annie Ferruzza, and her brother Vincent Ferruzza.

The family will receive friends at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD, on Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 1pm - 2pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2pm.
