Molly McCarthy Crowley

Molly McCarthy Crowley, 60, of Frederick, MD, passed away on May 27, 2026 after a two year long battle with cancer. She passed peacefully and was surrounded by those she loved most in the world.

Born on June 2, 1965 in Olney, MD, Molly was the beloved daughter of Patrick & Jeanette McCarthy and the youngest of six siblings. Her childhood was filled with love and laughter amongst family, neighbors, and friends. She met her husband Pat Crowley in late 1987 through mutual friends and they married in 1991. They had three beautiful daughters together who were Molly's whole world, and she was theirs.

Molly was the brightest light in any room she walked into and made everyone, friend or stranger, feel welcome. If you knew Molly you knew she had spunk, wit, and could make anyone laugh with her innocent yet perfectly timed sense of humor.

Molly's happiness was rooted in her family, including all of her Cavachon’s and most especially in her two grandsons. She was the happiest version of herself on First Street in Bethany Beach, Delaware and it will not be the same without her.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Pat; her daughters, Kelly (Jimmy), Colleen, and Bridget; her grandsons, Owen and Colin; her mother, Jeanette McCarthy; her siblings, Steve (Kim) McCarthy, Chris (Diana) McCarthy, Kathy (Michael) Hamlett, and Mary Beth (Timmy) O'Boyle; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Patrick McCarthy, and her brother, Michael McCarthy.

Services will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, which would have been Molly’s birthday. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E Church St., Frederick, MD 21701, immediately followed by a 1:00 Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church, 118 E 2nd St, Frederick, MD 21701. Burial services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Maryland Chapter in the name of Colleen’s Crew.

Molly will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. We have been so grateful to everyone who has shared their memories, stories, and funny Molly-isms over the last few months as they have brought our whole family a lot of light in this dark time. Her love for her family, kindness, sense of humor, and generosity leaves a lasting mark on everyone who knew and loved her.
