Some people leave the world a little kinder than they found it. Dr. Nalini Marino was one of those people.
As a physician, she dedicated her life to caring for others with compassion and integrity. As a wife, friend, daughter, and sister, she filled the lives around her with love, humor, and quiet strength.
Cancer became part of Nalini's story, but it never defined who she was. Her courage, strength, and tenacity throughout years of treatment inspired everyone who knew her, while her warmth and generosity remained unchanged. Even during her weaker moments, she was still a dedicated physician, often working on cases for people with similar illness.
Nalini's greatest wish was to spend her remaining time surrounded by the people and places she loved. She passed peacefully at home, with her husband and her puppy by her side.
She is survived by her husband, James (Bucky); her mother, Hannah; her sister, Nadira; and Winston, her toy poodle who faithfully kept her company.
Her family invites all who knew and loved her to celebrate a remarkable life at 2:00pm on 6/27/2026 at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home in Frederick, MD, followed by a reception.
In honor of Nalini’s vibrant spirit, guests are invited to wear cheerful or bright colors if they wish. Traditional black attire is equally welcome.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Nalini's memory are invited to make a donation to one of the causes that were meaningful to her and our family:
