On July 15, 2025, Patricia Joan Hartman (nee LaCorte), peacefully passed and went to be with the Lord. She was born on April 7, 1948 in Chicago Heights, Illinois and was the daughter of the late Anthony (Tony) LaCorte and Virginia N. LaCorte (nee Fisher).
Pat moved to Frederick, MD in1958 following the passing of her father. She graduated from Frederick High School in 1966 and then attended West Virginia Wesleyan College where she earned her B.A. degree in Music Education in 1972. She continued her education with classes at Hood College and later received a Master's equivalency at Towson University.
Pat was an elementary school music teacher in Montgomery Co., MD, and then in Frederick Co., MD for a total of 20+years. She also taught nursery school for several years at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Frederick. Her passion for music was apparent to all in her classroom, and she loved introducing young minds to rhythm and rhyme. Music was more than just a subject to her. It was a means to uplift to inspire and to connect with those around her. Pat also sang with The Frederick Chorale for many years. She blended music into every part of her life and profession.
Her faith was central to everything she did. A devout Christian, she was a longtime member and strong supporter of the First Baptist Church of Frederick where she worshiped faithfully and found deep connection within her church family. She also found great joy and purpose in her spiritual studies through CBS (Community Bible Study), and for many years was an active member of Women’s Aglow Fellowship. Her love of God was profound and unwavering. To her, heaven was not a mystery but a promise. Therefore we find peace knowing that she is surely home with her Lord and Savior.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles "Jack" Hartman, her beloved son Charles Hartman (Sarah ), and her beloved daughter Kristen Fairman (Adam). Pat was the proud grandmother of Tommie and Abby Hartman both of whom adored her and will miss her greatly. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Patti Randall (Keith) and Gigi her pet Chihuahua, who was always at her side. Lastly, she is survived by her large extended family and many friends and acquaintances.
She was preceded in death by her younger brother, George LaCorte. His memory lives on through his three children Tom, Ann and Tessa who remain close to her family.
One of her favorite places was the family vacation home near Chincoteague, Va. She loved spending time there decorating, and making it just the way she liked it. She loved caring for her yard and garden at home, tending to her plants with joy and care. Cross-stitch was her other creative passion and she spent many peaceful hours working on her hobbies. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and especially cherished shopping trips and quiet moments with her grandchildren, Tommy and Abby.
She will be remembered for her kindness, love of music, and unwavering faith.
Those who wish may send flowers to the funeral home and/or make donations to First Baptist Church of Frederick as a tribute to her memory.
