Patrick John Reavey

Patrick John Reavey passed away June 14th, 2025 at 80 years old after many years of dragon slaying.

Patrick was the most prolific storyteller you ever met. Whether sharing a sage lesson, a perfectly timed punchline, or a well-placed quip, he brought insight or levity to every conversation. His intellectual curiosity knew no bounds. A boy from Brooklyn, he was a lifelong New Yorker at heart. He traveled the world to connect with cultures, immersed himself in history, and his passion for literary pursuits ranged from science fiction to physics. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Marines and nurtured a lifelong love of learning, politics, philosophy, and spirited debate.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years Jeanne; his children Patrick Reavey (Kristin), Abigail Stone (Justin), Deirdre Demers (Luke), Matthew G. Reavey, Jonathan Speiser (Meghan), Caitlin Reavey, and Eileen Reavey, 11 grandchildren who adored their Pop Pop; and his brother Brian Reavey.

He was preceded in death by his beloved first wife Aldene Cooper Reavey; his parents, Patrick and Mary; and his siblings Kathleen, James, Kevin, and Robert Reavey.

A viewing will be held at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home on June 18 from 4 to 7 p.m.

A funeral mass will take place at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on June 19 at 11 a.m. The service will be live streamed on YouTube, to watch click here and select "live".

Private interment will follow on June 20 in Englewood, New Jersey.
