Rachel "Fay" Brown of Buckeystown, Maryland, passed away on September 27, 2025 at 83 years old.
She was a daughter of Maggie Stinson Mitchell and Garfield Thomas Mitchell.
She loved caring for her family, children, dogs and flowers.
Although quiet and shy, she was a warm soul and loved playing on the floor with her great granddaughter or playing with her dog Chili.
She loved going to family reunions near Jewel Ridge Virginia and visiting family in Tazewell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Carl, James, Alan, John, Clayton, Mike and one sister Ruby Robins.
She is survived by her children Donna Dudman, Robert (Bob) Brown and Joyce Hottinger and husband Bruce, grandchildren Michael Brown and Kenny Hottinger and great grandchildren Brianna, Scarlett, Mikey and Prairie.
She is also survived by brother Howard "Les" Mitchell and wife Irma and sister Joanne Plaster and husband Fred.
The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm, on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. A Graveside service will be held at 2pm, on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Keysville Union Cemetery, Keymar, MD.
Her family asks that rather than flowers, donations be sent to the Alzheimers Association.
