Mr. Richard “Ricky” Curry, of New Market, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Kline Hospice House. He was the loving husband of Brenda Curry for 38 years.
Born July 26, 1950, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Jarvis and Margaret Curry.
Ricky graduated from JFK High School in Wheaton. was a passionate fan of the Washington Redskins, rarely missing a game and always cheering them on with enthusiasm. Whether celebrating a win or standing by them through tough seasons, his loyalty never wavered. A car enthusiast and loved his 1956 Chevy. He found joy in the simple things, especially the time he spent with his wife and his animals, who brought him great comfort and happiness. He also enjoyed spending time in Kentucky, often taking his mother along on those trips. Ricky was known as a wonderful neighbor—always kind, dependable, and ready to lend a hand.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Susan Starling (Robbie); brother- in- law Jimmy Baggott; niece, Doug Curry, cousin who he shared a deep and enduring bond who was truly like a brother in every way; Tracey Price (Bryan); nephews, Michael (Sierra) Starling, Matthew Starling, Dylan Price, and Zachary Price; brother-in-law, Bruce Bryant; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends Sandy and Mike Caretta, and their sons, Daniel and Michael.
Ricky was preceded in death by his siblings, Phillip Curry (Martha), Michael Curry, and Patricia Baggott and his brother-in-law, Jimmy Bryant.
Ricky will be remembered for his love, his loyalty, and the quiet ways he showed he cared. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Celebration of life will be scheduled in future.
