Richard Kenneth Miller Jr.

RICHARD K. MILLER, JR. (July 10, 1949 – Sept 23, 2026)
U.S. Army and Vietnam Veteran of Frederick, Maryland

A self-proclaimed “country boy,” Richard loved the natural world, his family, friends and furry companions along life’s way. He enjoyed many life adventures and always recounted his military service with pride.

In February 1969, Richard voluntarily enlisted in the U.S. Army, training and working with the 169th Engineering Battalion. He also proudly served in the Vietnam War and received several service medals and commendations. After his military service, he returned to the Frederick area, working locally as a tradesman and manager with Pantry Pride.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Richard K. Miller Sr., his mother Betty C. Miller and his sister Mary Alice Stup, all of Frederick, MD. He is survived by his niece, Amanda Winters, as well as other extended family.

Many thanks to his long-term medical team at Autumn Lake Ballenger Creek, as well as all the wonderful caregivers with Frederick Health Hospice.

A Reception of Friends will be held Monday, September 28th from 4:00 to 6:00pm, at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home in Frederick. Interment will be private at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
