"Bob"

Robert (Bob) Harold Baumgardner Sr. passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born to Bernard R. and Roberta V. Baumgardner in Frederick, Maryland on August 17, 1936.

Bob graduated from St. John’s Literary Institute in Frederick, MD, in 1954 and went on to study at the University of Maryland where he graduated and then received his Masters in Engineering.

In 1962, he married the love of his life Mary (Mimi) Elizabeth Reedy. They settled in Beltsville, MD and raised two children Mary Elizabeth (Beth) and Robert (Bob) Harold Jr.

Bob worked for the Federal Highway Department for most of his career in which he traveled extensively throughout the United States.

After retirement, he and Mimi continued to travel, enjoying trips to the West and Canada. They moved to New Market, MD where they were involved with their community and became an active members of St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Mimi of 59 years. He is survived by their daughter Beth and son Bob (Julie) along with grandsons Tyler and Ryan and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

The Viewing will be held Wednesday, October 22nd at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home on 106 E. Church St. in Frederick, MD from 4pm - 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 23rd at 11 am at St. Ignatius of Loyola in Ijamsville, MD.
