Ruth Monica Iannucci

Ruth Iannucci passed away on July 23, 2026. Ruth was the beloved wife of Richard Iannucci, her husband of 74 years, who survives her.

Born in 1929 in London, England, Ruth had a twin brother and two younger sisters. She was a survivor of the London blitz during WWII, an experience that had a profound effect on her. After the war she went to nursing school where she learned skills that were used in her role as mother to her three children and friends.

In London in 1950 Ruth met Richard, a USAF serviceman, and married him in 1951 in Rochester, NY. Together, they lived with their growing family, in California, Paris, Rhode Island, Maryland, Utah, Tokyo, and Delaware, before retiring to Harwood, Maryland, where they resided for 38 years.

An amazing knitter and great cook, Ruth enjoyed square dancing and traveling with Richard and close friends around the US and world. She was immensely proud of her British heritage. Ruth was loved by all who met her, and with her warm and kind spirit, she loved all she met.

Ruth professed her faith in the Lord Jesus when she was a teenager and spoke of looking forward to heaven. She enjoyed Bible studies at the Grace Brethren Church where they attended regularly.

When parting ways with visitors and family, Ruth always rejected the word "goodbye" and happily proclaimed "It's not goodbye, but “Cheerio!”

Ruth is survived by her three children, David Iannucci, Elaine Ross, and Monica Mansfield, and their spouses, respectively, Mary Ann Blotzer, Ron Ross, and Charles Mansfield, along with 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Keeney & Basford funeral home in Frederick, MD., on Saturday August 1, 2026. Receiving of friends will begin at 1:00, and services are scheduled for 2:00 pm. Interment will be private and occur at a later date.
