Sharon Ann Nikirk Hartsock, born March 27, 1946, passed May 21, 2026, at Williamsport Retirement Village.
Sharon, the daughter of the late C. Franklin and Eleanor Ruth Nikirk, is survived by her husband Larry, son Shawn M. Hartsock and daughter-in-law Judi Hartsock, brother Martin Nikirk, and sister-in-law Joann Houck. Sharon was a 1964 graduate of Frederick High School and a 1995 graduate of Hagerstown Community College. Earlier in her life she volunteered and served as a United Service Organization (USO) Hostess, a Lieutenant in the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) and a member of the CAP ground team; she was active in the Frederick Democrat Club, and also was a secretary for TOPS.
For 15 years, Sharon was employed at Hagerstown Community College. She was a member of Haven Lutheran Church, Hagerstown, Maryland.
in 2018, she and her brother established "The E. Ruth Nikirk Scholarship Fund" with the Community Foundation of Frederick County, Maryland.
A private service is planned in Maui, Hawaii.
