Sonja Jean Boyer

Sonja Jean Boyer, age 65, passed on October 28, 2026, at Frederick Health Hospital. She was born on July 18, 1961 and is the daughter of the late William T. Blentlinger, Jr. and the late Betty E. Fox - Blentlingler.

Sonja graduated from Frederick High School in 1979. She worked for more than 30 years as a cook in the healthcare profession.

Sonja loved to stay busy. She enjoyed going shopping or going out to eat and trying new restaurants. Sonja loved animals and owned Dachshunds her whole life. Her most recent dog "Shiloh" (Dachshund) was her best friend and she loved to spoil him. Sonja would take him "along for the ride", almost anywhere. Sonja was also a volunteer member of Libertytown Fire Police for years.

Sonja is survived by her brother William Blentlinger, III, as well as nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by he half-brothers Brian Fox and Jerry Blentlinger.

Friends are invited to call at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701 on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will immediately follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
