Tracy Ann McGuirk

Oct 8, 1960 — Sep 5, 2026

Frederick

Tracy arrived on October 8, 1960 at Overlook Hospital, Summit New Jersey. She was the firstborn child of Terry N., and Francis A. McGuirk, Jr.

The family made its home in nearby Chatham, New Jersey and Tracy completed her formative education in the Chatham Boro School system, graduating in June of 1978.

Tracy’s hobby of art and sewing led her to Hood College from which she graduated in 1982 with a BS in Home Economics. It was at that point that Tracy began her life in Frederick MD.

She continued sewing and in 1985, with a colleague, opened her own shop, in Shab Row, as Tracy Lin Creations. There they focused on Design and Creation of Women’s fashion. During this time she also mentored several local high school students who had the talent and desire to follow in the seamstress profession and consulted on a class project for two Hood students.

One of TLC’s clients recruited her in the early 2010’s to serve on the General Board at Record Street Home in Frederick from there she was elected to serve on the Board of Managers. This initiated a passion within her for service at Record Street. During her service on that volunteer board Tracy served in many leadership and official positions, some doing multiple terms.

Tracy continued that business and volunteer activity until 2020 when she retired her business and accepted a permanent position at Record Street as Director of Resident Services. As Director of Resident Services she managed several departments and filled in when absences occurred. The residents, staff and mission of Record Street kept her motivated to stay strong, focused, and to fight an incessant disease. Working thru covid and her many debilitating treatments, she continued in that position until her activities were limited by health concerns.

Looking back at Tracy's activities, Record Street Home was her major motivation. She fully enjoyed the Residents, the Staff and the Mission of that facility. Her warm smile and willingness to do whatever was needed, will certainly be missed.

On Saturday September 5, 2026, Tracy Ann McGuirk passed away after a 5 year battle with Uterine Cancer.

Those considering a donation in her memory might think of Record Street Home, Frederick MD, the local Hospice facility or a charity of your choice.
