Vickie Mae Zimmerman, 74, of Boonsboro, Maryland passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Doey's House in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Born October 26, 1951, to the late Mickey M. Keeney and Glenda LaRue (Garber) Rollins, and step-father James Rollins. She was the beloved wife of the late James W. Zimmerman.
Vickie worked in the electronics field for the majority of her career, where her keen eye and attention to detail were especially appreciated. She had a gift for finding beauty in the old and the unexpected, often spending afternoons antiquing and uncovering special pieces that spoke to her. Her greatest joy, though, was found in her flower beds, where she lovingly tended her flowers season after season. She was loved by all who had the joy and privilege of knowing her, and she will be sorely missed.
Vickie was a member of the American Legion, Post 11 in Frederick, MD.
Surviving Vickie are her daughter, Stacey Williams (Kirk), of Greencastle, PA, her son Joseph M. (Marty) Rowe II (Tonya), of Hagerstown, MD, two step-daughters Wendy Smith (Dave) and Ronni Zimmerman, both of Frederick, MD; two sisters, Christie Wilhide, of Thurmont, MD, and Jamie Brown (Greg), of Frederick, MD, brother Ryne Rollins (Wanda), of Frederick, MD; ten grandchildren: Sadie Sharp, Jacob Rowe, Brandon Hagy, Brittany Fogle, Dustin Zimmerman, Peyton Meadows, Kassidy Meadows, Kristia Williams, Garritt Williams and Penelope Williams; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, and a nephew.
Graveside services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, MD.
The support of Washington County Hospice and the staff at Doey’s House was invaluable through Vickie’s last days. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to: https://www.hospiceofwc.org/giving/donate-now.
