Virginia Giovanna “Ginny” Hayes passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones at Kline Hospice House. She was 70 years old. Born on October 4, 1955, in Wheeling, West Virginia, Ginny was the daughter of the late Michael Joseph Moran and Maria Teresa Fazzolari Moran. Throughout her life, she remained deeply rooted in her community, dedicating countless hours to volunteer work at St. John the Evangelist Church, where her strong faith guided her and helped foster meaningful connections with fellow parishioners. She also took great joy in all kinds of crafting, specifically sewing and crocheting. She made beautiful items for those in need with her local crochet group and shared her talent and creativity with friends and family alike. However, her greatest passion was being a mother. She devoted herself to raising her children and found joy in celebrating each milestone they achieved.
Ginny is survived by her husband, Stephen Hayes, and her cherished children: Kevin Hayes, Pamela (Hayes) Buzard and her husband, Michael Buzard, Elizabeth Hayes, and Teresa Hayes. She also leaves behind her two granddaughters, Caraline Buzard and Emmelynn Buzard, who brought her an abundance of happiness and pride. Ginny was predeceased by her parents, her brother Frank Moran, and her beloved son Keith Hayes, whose memory continued to live on in her heart.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects to Ginny on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 4 to 7 PM at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, P.A., located at 106 E. Church St., Frederick, MD 21701. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist, located at 118 E. 2nd St., Frederick, MD 21701. A private interment will take place at a later date, allowing her family to honor her memory in a peaceful setting. Ginny's warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
