Wayne E. Bitler of Clarksburg, Maryland died on September 13, 2026 in Frederick, Maryland at the age of 82.
Wayne was born on December 4, 1943 in Frederick, MD. to the late Mary Ellen Bitler (nee Tracey) and the late Charles E. “Mike” Bitler.
Wayne spent his formative years in Frederick, leaving school for a life-long career in the construction industry, operating numerous types of heavy equipment until his retirement. He took pride in his loyalty to his employers and his projects.
Wayne was an active participant in the Eagle’s, Moose, Redman’s Club and Owl’s Club. He was a very avid white tail deer hunter, bass fisherman, duck-pin bowler, card player, sports fan of both the Oriole’s and Redskins.
He is survived by his devoted daughter, Karen Lynn Bitler of Walkersville, MD., brothers Charles R. “Bobby” Bitler (Virginia) and Mark D. Bitler (Topper), his niece Lori Bitler Pappas, Great-nephews Blake Bitler and Holden Pappas and numerous cousins.
Wayne is predeceased by his sisters the late Nora Jean Bitler and the late Janet Lee Bitler.
Wayne had a special aptitude for making life-long friends. He will be remembered by Larry and George Warfield, Billy Mills, Rick and Becky Nusbaum, Sammy Boyer, John Bowers, Larry jones, Donnie Stevens, The Winpigler Family and his best animal friend, Cooley.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit on Friday, September 18, 2026 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Keeney & Basford Funeral Homes, P.A. 106 E. Church St. Frederick, Maryland 21701 where a funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment immediately following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 515 S. Market St. Frederick, MD. 21701
