Wilbur Eugene Rice, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, May 21, 2026.
Born on July 11, 1940, in Frederick, MD.
He spent his early years in Frederick until he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1958 and served his country until 1962. Upon discharge from the Air Force, Wil returned to Frederick and began his career at AT&T, working there for 36 years. Wil worked his way up at AT&T to become a high level program manager in government services, receiving numerous awards for excellence. Also upon returning to Frederick, Wil married his childhood sweetheart, Kay Eury in 1963. Together, they raised two children, Phillip A. Rice and Cynthia P. Bashore.
Wil was a member of the Francis Scott Key Lions Club for over 30 years, and was a member of the Sons of The American Revolution.
Wil is survived by his wife of 63 years, Kay, son Phillip (Krista), daughter Cynthia (Guy), and seven grandchildren, Luke Rice (Hailey), Hannah Rice (Jason), Grant Rice, Nathaniel Beard, Olivia Beard, Ella Beard and Vance Bashore.
A celebration of life service will be Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 4:00 PM at All Saints Episcopal Church, 106 W. Church St., Frederick, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church Outreach Fund.
