William “Bill” Allen Stitely, born November 1, 1944, passed Monday, February 2, 2026. He is forever in our hearts.
Bill was the loving husband of Rosemary for nearly 62 years. He was preceded in death by his daughter Gail Christine Huffman and is survived by his daughter Cindy Matthews, son-in-law Tracy Matthews, grandchildren Cheyenne, Aidan, and Paige, nieces Donna Atkins and Kim Baer, nephews Bryan Stitely, Dale Stitely, Nick Adams, and Kevin Adams, and many wonderful friends and respected former colleagues.
Bill retired from Airpax after 36 years. During his professional time, he travelled to China, Singapore, and the Dominican Republic, amongst other locations around the United States.
In his later years, Bill enjoyed travelling to many states and countries and visiting his sister Alexandra Kirk in Cody, Wyoming. He and Rosemary loved touring new and old places with their friends Cindy & Lee Ott and Peggy & Don Trimmer. Bill was a member of the Monocacy Pistol Club, met his friends for breakfast each Tuesday morning, and had a standing lunch date with work friends every other week at Belles. He was also a proud member of his church’s men’s group. Bill valued his close relationship with his nephew Bryan, and the duo spent time together target shooting and fishing on the Chesapeake Bay.
Bill was known throughout his life for making all kinds of beautiful things from wood: bedroom furniture, clocks, children’s toys, and other items. He enjoyed having an annual garden, maintaining his home, and competing at lawn care with his lifelong friend and neighbor Ginny Greene.
